2025 Division Festival of Talents (Technolympics) Showcases Student Excellence in Technology and Skills

Olongapo City, Philippines – January 31, 2025 – The 2025 Division Festival of Talents (Technolympics) kicked off today at Old Cabalan Integrated School, bringing together young talents from public and private elementary and secondary schools, including Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners. From 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, students competed in various categories that highlighted their technical skills and creativity.

The event opened with a warm welcome from Amalia Abayan, Principal IV of Old Cabalan Integrated School, followed by an inspiring message from Hon. Rolando Alba Jr. The occasion was further graced by Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac, Officer-in-Charge, Schools Division Superintendent, and Dr. Eleonor C. Cayabyab, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division, who delivered inspirational messages to encourage the participants.

Providing an in-depth look at the Technolympics, Jonathan F. Bada, Education Program Supervisor for EPP/TLE/TVL, gave an insightful overview of the competition. Finally, Annie Montero, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), officially declared the opening of the Division Festival of Talents.

This year’s Technolympics featured an array of competitions catering to both elementary and secondary students. Participants showcased their skills in the following categories:

For Secondary Level with their winners

  • Dressmaking – Maria Jenelyn Jane Merlan and Rovielyn Tupaz of BNHS
  • Food Processing- Aira A. Martinez and Chelsey Myles G. Abitan of NCNHS
  • Electrical Installation & Maintenance (EIM)- Braian C. Soria and Andrei James Baula of NCSHS
  • Technical Drafting- Braian C. Soria and Andrei James Baula of NCSHS
  • Techno Quiz Bee- Rainer Pulvorosa, Kristina Cassandra Muñoz And Rianne Zane E. Legaspi of OCABIS
  • Bread and Pastry Production- Lacey B. Sellon and Shane Briana S. Interino of GHNHS
  • Beauty Care- Rain Justin Steele (Artist) And Jazmine Del Rosario (Model) of Sta Rita High School
  • Cookery- Jules Mose, Roan Ubungen and Deserie Espejo of NCNHS

The Technolympics serves as a platform for young learners to demonstrate their technical expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in real-world applications. It also fosters camaraderie and a spirit of healthy competition among students.

The 2025 Division Festival of Talents continues to be a proof to the Department of Education’s commitment to equipping students with industry-relevant skills and preparing them for future careers. As the day unfolds, winners will be recognized for their outstanding performances, further motivating them to pursue excellence in their chosen fields.
