6th Olongapo City Robotics Cup Showcases Innovation and Talent in Youth Education

In a dazzling display of innovation and skill, the 6th Olongapo City Robotics Cup with the theme Earth Allies”, organized by I-STREAM Education for Youth Corporation, A+ Solutions and Development Center and the City of Olongapo led by our City Mayor, Hon. Rolen “Lenj” Paulino Jr., and in cooperation with DepEd Olongapo City through the Division Robotics Focal Person Ms. Yvette H. Roque, took place on April 26, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center. This annual event, exclusive to public and private students of Olongapo City, aims to promote STEM education and foster a culture of creativity and technological advancement among the youth.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Hon. Cristabelle Marie Paulino, City Councilor of Olongapo City, setting the tone for an inspiring day ahead. Dr. Julius Ceasar V. Sicat, CESO III, Regional Director of DOST 3, delivered an inspirational message, highlighting the significance of scientific exploration and the need for continuous innovation. Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent – Officer-In-Charge of the Schools Division Office of Olongapo, also shared a special message emphasizing the value of educational initiatives like the Robotics Cup in nurturing the talents of the youth.

The day’s events unfolded with precision and excitement, starting with the Presentation of the Board of Judges, followed by the Participant’s Orientation and Coaches Meeting, where strategies were discussed, and mission board practices took place. Quarantine of Robots ensured fairness and compliance with competition rules.

The heart of the competition lay in the Mission Board Game, where participants showcased their robots’ capabilities through various challenges. After Calibration and Testing, the competition proceeded with two intense runs, culminating in the much-anticipated Announcement of winners.

The winners of the ROBOMISSION and FUTURE INNOVATORS categories represented the pinnacle of talent and ingenuity:

The event concluded with closing remarks by Engr. Ailene L. Viacrusis of A+ Solutions Development Center Corp., followed by the grand Awarding of Winners Ceremony, where participants were celebrated for their hard work and dedication.

The 6th Olongapo City Robotics Cup not only showcased the technical prowess of young minds but also served as a testament to the city’s commitment to nurturing innovation and excellence in education. As these young innovators continue to push the boundaries of technology, the future of Olongapo City shines brighter than ever before.
