Rotary Club of Olongapo turned over washing facilities at Sergia Soriano Esteban Integrated School-I (SSEIS-I) and Amelia Heights Elementary School (AHES) on April 26.
The donation composed of two (2) water tanks for SSEIS-I, and a handwashing facility with the construction of pavement for AHES was part of the club’s WASH in Schools Target Challenge which aims to provide sustainable water, sanitation, hygiene (collectively referred to as WASH) in schools based on its two (2) areas of focus: basic education and literacy and water and sanitation.
The turn over ceremonies were led by Rotary officers Norma Dizon and Maria Loreto Reyes, Principals Richard Calimbas of SSEIS-I and Dolores Umbina of AHES, and Division Partnership Focal Persons Andrew Mar Salburo and Glenn Tipay.
The Schools Division Office continuous to address gaps in the areas of hygiene and sanitation by building partnership with stakeholders through the Social Mobilization and Networking Unit.
