The Senior High School Summit Year 3, an event dedicated to enhancing educational practices, was successfully held from April 24 to April 26, 2024. Spearheaded by Dr. Corazon B. Dumlao, Public Schools District Supervisor, the summit took place across three significant venues: Marikit Park, Olongapo City National High School, and Travelers Hotel.
With the theme “MATATAG na Senior High para sa MATATAG na Olongapo City,” the summit aimed to provide a comprehensive platform for Senior High School educators to exchange best practices in Academic and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) tracks. The primary objective was to enhance curriculum implementation, instructional delivery, research, and innovation to ultimately produce life-ready students.
The objectives of the summit are to relate experiences of teachers in curriculum implementation, instruction, immersion, and assessment, present the results of action research and innovations conducted, showcase the outputs/products and skills performance of learners, capacitate teachers in enhancing proficiency and competencies in curriculum, instruction, research, and innovations.
The event saw the participation of nine schools, including newly opened SHSs, along with five assistant principals, four PSDSs, and 186 teachers, totaling 204 participants. Over the three days, attendees engaged in a variety of activities designed to meet the summit’s objectives.
Teachers shared their experiences and best practices in implementing curricula, delivering instruction, and conducting assessments and immersions. These sessions provided valuable insights into practical applications and challenges faced by educators.
The summit highlighted the importance of continuous professional development for teachers and the sharing of innovative practices to improve educational standards. SDS Imelda P.
