SDO Olongapo City in its desire to elevate the quality of implemented researches, successfully conducted a Seminar Workshop on Research Management on May 26, 2023 at Subic Bay Travelers Hotel. This was attended by the School Heads, School Research Managers, Public Schools District Supervisors and Education Program Supervisors.
The event was graced by the Schools Division Superintendent as she gave her inspirational message highlighting the role of research in solving school related problems. She stressed that the nobility of conducting research is not meant only for promotion purposes but also for policy recommendation.
In this seminar the Research Activities of each school for the last three years were highlighted. The research managers shared their best practices on managing research. The SDO’s Research Unit presented the Status Report for the last four years. The table and graph below show the number of research that were approved and funded under the Policy Research Program Fund.
A discussion on “Quality Assurance of Action Research Proposals” was made by Dr. Eleonor C. Cayabyab. She went over the numerous steps to be followed in the submission of research proposals to the SDO.
Dr. Maylene M. Minimo, CESE, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, presented “Exploring Strategies for Disseminating Research Findings.” She discussed topics that included publishing research in education journals, presenting at education conferences, comparing research with colleagues and school staff, joining professional networks/online communities, collaborating with educational organizations, and developing a digital presence.
