In order to address the demands of distance learning for students with special needs, ICTSI Foundation led by their Program Operation Manager Joy Lapuz turned over support packages to the public Special Education (SPED) schools on January 7 at Kalalake Elementary School.
The turnover was part of the project dubbed as “Educational Assistance for Blended Learning” by the institution. This project was particularly developed to augment the delivery of quality basic education for learners with exceptionalities.
SPED Coordinator and Supervisor Paquito Figuero headed the acceptance of support packages for the schools. They were Olongapo City National High School, Kalalake National High School, Gordon Heights I Elementary School, Old Cabalan Integrated School, Kalalake Elementary School, and Sergia Soriano Esteban Integrated School- Kalaklan.
The donation composed of disinfectants; special items for the blind; office, school, and art supplies; laptop computers, printers, inks and other digital devices; and manipulative toys amounted to Php 666, 600.37.
Also present during the event were stakeholders from Subic International Terminal, Inc. led by Manager Henry Dungca; Division Partnership Focal Persons Andrew Mar Salburo and Glenn Tipay; and the principals and teachers of the SPED centers.
Several projects to help other DepEd schools and personnel are already under discussion as part of the Division’s efforts to establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders to enrich student learning, and involve the community in the educative process.
