SDO Olongapo City Schools Press Conference 2024: Nurturing Young Journalistic Talents

By Glenn D. Tipay

In adherence to Republic Act No. 9079, commonly known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, the Division of Olongapo City is set to host the much-anticipated 2024 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) on February 8, 2024, at New Cabalan Elementary School for individual contest categories, followed by group categories on February 9, 2024, at Olongapo City National High School.

With the primary objective of refining communication skills among learners across various categories of campus journalism, the DSPC aims to foster intellectual curiosity and the holistic development of students through engaging competition. Furthermore, it serves as a crucial platform for identifying divisional champions who will advance to regional and national-level journalism competitions.

The event commenced with an opening program delivered by the host school’s Principal, Dr. Melody M. Gonzales. Subsequently, Punong Barangay Kap. Delbert M. Muega also delivered a message followed by inspirational messages from Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac, the OIC Schools Division Superintendent, and Mr. William Roderick R. Fallorin, the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent.

As the Division of Olongapo City gears up for this prestigious event, excitement and anticipation fill the air as young journalists showcase their talent, creativity, and dedication to the field of campus journalism. The DSPC promises to be an enriching experience, nurturing the next generation of writers, reporters, and media professionals.
