No one comprehended what the outbreak of novel coronavirus, COVID-19, would mean to the world, specially to the Education sector. Life has fundamentally changed, and the mantras of today are “stay at home, stay safe’, and ‘ practice social distancing”.
SDO Olongapo City is ensuring that the learning must continue amidst the pandemic. To be able to achieve this goal of learning that is not limited to students, but also to the teachers, maximizing stakeholders engagement is seen essential. Through the initiatives of the Youth Formation Coordinators of the Schools Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) partnership with Pinas Forward has been forged. Pinas Forward is a social movement that aims to offer free Webinars on the following topics: Digital Citizenship (Digital Mindfulness, Digital Impact, Digital Discernment and Digital Transformation), Tatak Pinuno and PF Connect intended for learners, teachers and parents. These webinars will discuss the participants’ capabilities in community engagement by learning about leadership capabilities (Tatak Pinuno) and how they can use them either by doing nation-building/ community engagement through the use of social media (Digital Citizenship) or within their actual community (PF Connect).
These endeavors and initiatives will be facilitated by the Division Youth Formation Coordinators Ms. Elaine Rose L. Joson and Mr. Robert Noe C. Pagapang in coordination with the representatives from Pinas Forward Mr. Mark Ponce San Juan, Mr. Jeff Richard S. Segumalian and their Ground Operations Head Mr. June Joson. Prior to this engagement the, YFC sought permission of the Schools Division Superintendent to push thru this partnership for the benefit of the internal and external stakeholders.
The partnership put premium importance on empowering Filipinos to have developed leadership, compassion and the desire to create a genuine, innovative and lasting progress for every Philippine Community.
