SDO Olongapo Sweeps Regional Broadcasting Awards, Sparks Benchmarking Interest from Schools Division Office of Malolos City

Olongapo City, January 26, 2024 – In a remarkable effort to foster collaboration and enhance broadcasting skills, the Schools Division Office of Malolos City recently engaged in a benchmarking activity with the Schools Division Office of Olongapo City. Spearheaded by the Education Program Supervisor (EPS) and Division Information Officer, Sir Algie Juridico, and Dr. Edna C. Diaz – Education Program Supervisor in English, the event brought together 27 teacher broadcasters from the two divisions.

The benchmarking activity, hosted by the Schools Division Office of Olongapo City, was led by its Officer-In-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac, and the Division Information Officer, Arlene Dela Rea. The SDO-Gapo Broadcast Team, including Sir Edison Sambili, Ma’am Coleen Tala, Ma’am Love Ruiz, Sir Glenn Tipay, Ma’am Mary Onyx Umayan, and Ma’am Baby Lea Divino, played an essential role in facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

The collaborative effort aimed to strengthen the capabilities of the participating teacher broadcasters and foster a sense of camaraderie between the two divisions. The event featured various workshops, hands-on training sessions, and discussions on best practices in educational broadcasting.

Sir Algie Juridico emphasized the significance of such benchmarking activities in promoting continuous improvement. “This initiative goes beyond professional development; it’s about building connections and sharing ideas that can positively impact our respective broadcasting teams,” he remarked.

Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac expressed her gratitude for the collaborative spirit between the two divisions. “We believe that sharing experiences and learning from each other is essential in creating a more dynamic and effective broadcasting team,” she stated.

The benchmarking activity encompassed a diverse array of subjects, spanning effective scriptwriting, technical broadcasting skills, audience engagement strategies, and the integration of new technologies in educational broadcasting. Notably, Ma’am Coleen Tala, recognized as the Regional Broadcasting awardee, contributed her expertise and insights to enrich discussions on these crucial aspects of the broadcasting field.

Sir Edison Sambili, the Regional Broadcasting awardee and Alternate Division Information Officer of Olongapo City, highlighted the importance of staying updated with the latest trends in broadcasting. “In the ever-evolving field of media, it is crucial for educational broadcasters to adapt and integrate new technologies to keep their content relevant and engaging,” he explained.

The collaborative effort between the Schools Division Offices of Malolos City and Olongapo City is a shining example of how educational institutions can work together to enhance the skills and knowledge of their teams. The participants left the event inspired and equipped with new ideas to implement in their respective divisions, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose in the world of educational broadcasting.
