Starlink Internet Satellite Kit Turnover Enhances Connectivity at Iram I Elementary School

Olongapo City, April 4, 2024 – Iram I Elementary School witnessed a remarkable moment as the turnover ceremony of the SEF-Funded Starlink Internet Satellite Kit unfolded. The event, held at the school premises, marked significant progress towards bridging the digital divide in the school.

The ceremony garnered attention from locals and officials alike. Leading the event were Imelda P. Macaspac, PhD, OIC-Schools Division Office of Olongapo City, and Sir Arturo Aquino- Schools Division Information Technology Officer, whose presence highlighted the importance of technological advancement in education.

The event was graced by the presence of the school’s principal, Dolores A. Umbina, whose enthusiasm was evident as the Starlink Internet Satellite Kit promised to modernize connectivity within the school premises. Principal Umbina expressed her gratitude towards the initiative, highlighting the transformative impact it would have on both students and faculty members.

Mayor Rolen C. Paulino Jr., as Local School Board Chairman has this initiative that reflects a shared commitment to empowering underserved communities through access to technology and knowledge. His advocacy for educational equity has resonated deeply with stakeholders, paving the way for collaborative efforts that transcend boundaries and create lasting impact.

Dr. Macaspac emphasized the significance of leveraging technology to enhance educational opportunities, especially in remote areas where access to the internet remains a challenge.

Sir Arturo Aquino stressed the importance of equipping educational institutions with the tools necessary to adapt to the demands of the digital age, citing the Starlink Internet Satellite Kit as a prime example of such innovation.

The ceremony concluded with the handing over of the Starlink Internet Satellite Kit to Principal Umbina, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the school’s technological journey.
