In line with its commitment to continuously improve the quality of instruction in Senior High School education, the Schools Division Office conducted the Division Training on the Strengthened Senior High School Core Subjects on June 12 and 13, 2026, at the Travelers Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

The two-day training, led by Corazon B. Dumlao, EdD, District Supervisor and Division Focal Person for Senior High School, gathered public and private Senior High School teachers from across the division to enhance their competencies in delivering the strengthened core subjects under the Senior High School curriculum. The activity was also attended and supported by the Education Program Supervisors and District Schools Supervisors, demonstrating the division’s collective commitment to strengthening Senior High School instruction.

In their inspirational messages, Schools Division Superintendent Imelda P. Macaspac, PhD, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Ilynne S. Samonte, CESE, and Eleonor C. Cayabyab, EdD, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division, encouraged the participants to embrace the strengthened Senior High School curriculum with dedication, innovation, and commitment to lifelong learning. They emphasized that teachers play a vital role in shaping future-ready learners and urged educators to continuously enhance their competencies, collaborate with one another, and remain passionate about delivering quality education that responds to the evolving needs of students and society.
The training specifically aimed to enhance teachers’ competencies in delivering the strengthened Senior High School core subjects; provide updated instructional strategies, assessment approaches, and learning delivery modalities appropriate for Senior High School learners; promote collaboration and the sharing of best practices among public and private Senior High School teachers; and support quality instruction and continuous professional development among educators.

Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in discussions, workshops, and collaborative activities designed to deepen their understanding of curriculum standards and innovative teaching methodologies. The training also served as a platform for educators from both public and private schools to exchange experiences and effective classroom practices.
The Schools Division Office expressed optimism that the knowledge and skills gained from the training will contribute to improved teaching practices and, ultimately, better learning outcomes for Senior High School students throughout the division.
