OLONGAPO CITY, June 1, 2026 – The Schools Division Office of Olongapo City officially launched Brigada Eskwela 2026, bringing together various sectors of the community in a strong demonstration of unity and volunteerism in preparation for the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.
Led by the Social Mobilization and Networking Unit, the Division Kick-Off Program was held at the Asinan Elementary School Covered Court, in line with the nationwide simultaneous launch of Brigada Eskwela. Carrying the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman” (Community Spirit in Schools: United for Order and Learning), the program aims to strengthen collaboration among schools, parents, local government units, partners, and stakeholders to ensure safe, organized, and learner-ready schools.
The activity commenced with the assembly of participants at 7:30 a.m., followed by a motorcade at 8:00 a.m., formally launching Brigada Eskwela 2026 across the city. The event was attended by school heads, assistant principals, Adopt-a-School Program coordinators, Brigada Eskwela coordinators, officials of the Federation of Parents-Teachers Association (FPTA) and School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA), education partners, and community stakeholders.
In her welcome message, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Ilynne S. Samonte, CESE, emphasized the importance of collective action and shared responsibility in preparing schools for the new school year. Schools Division Superintendent Imelda P. Macaspac, PhD likewise encouraged stakeholders to continue supporting DepEd’s efforts to provide quality education through strong partnerships and active community engagement.
One of the highlights of the event was the Message of Commitment on DepEd’s Wellness Program delivered by Ilirmo Edejer Chief of Clinics of ULTICARE Medical Center followed by the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between ULTICARE Medical Center and DepEd Olongapo City, reinforcing their partnership in promoting wellness and healthcare services for DepEd personnel and learners. The program also featured the turnover of donations from various partners and stakeholders in support of schools across the division.
City Mayor Hon. Rolen C. Paulino, Jr. expressed the local government’s continued commitment to educational development, while Edlynn S. Solano President of the Rotary Club of Olongapo reaffirmed their support for DepEd programs and community development initiatives.
To symbolize their shared commitment, participating stakeholders signed a Pledge of Commitment, signifying their active support for Brigada Eskwela and their dedication to creating conducive learning environments for all learners.
The program concluded with a message of gratitude from SGOD Chief Ricardo E. Ednave, who thanked all partners, volunteers, and stakeholders for their invaluable contributions to the success of the activity.
Through Brigada Eskwela 2026, DepEd Olongapo City once again highlighted the power of bayanihan and partnership in ensuring that schools are safe, organized, and fully prepared for the opening of classes on June 8, 2026. The event served as a proof to the community’s shared commitment to providing every Olongapeño learner with access to quality education in a nurturing and learner-centered environment.
The Schools Division Office of Olongapo City continues to encourage all sectors of society to actively participate in Brigada Eskwela activities and sustain their support for programs that promote quality, inclusive, and accessible education for all.
