by Arlene Dela Rea

Olongapo City – June 27, 2025 – The streets of Olongapo glowed with vibrant lights and spectacular colors during the Grand Electric Parade held on June 27, 2025, as part of the city’s 59th Cityhood Anniversary celebration. Among the standout participants was the 2024-2025 Federated Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of Olongapo City, which garnered 2nd Place out of 8 contenders in the Best Electric Float under NGO’s category.

Spearheaded by the dynamic leadership of Federated PTA President Angela Esquillo, the team captivated the audience and judges alike with their mesmerizing float themed “Engkantadia”—a ”magical realm symbolizing the strength, dedication, and unity the group has consistently demonstrated in support of fellow parents, officers, and the entire Schools Division Office.

With their second-place win, the Federated PTA received a 10,000 cash prize, adding not just financial reward but also immense pride to their long list of accomplishments. More than just a visual masterpiece, the float was a creative tribute to the organization’s tireless efforts and countless initiatives that have significantly benefited the learners and the broader school community.

Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac, OIC-Schools Division Superintendent of Olongapo City, expressed deep pride in the achievement, stating, “The Federated PTA has once again proven that service with a purpose yields impact. Their dedication and creativity are truly inspiring, and they exemplify what it means to lead with heart and vision.”

As the city continues to celebrate its growth and progress, the success of the Federated PTA in this year’s Grand Electric Parade stands as a beacon of the collaborative spirit and shared commitment that defines Olongapo’s education community.
