In line with the celebration of National Women’s Month, the Schools Division Office of Olongapo officially kicked off its series of activities during the flag-raising ceremony, where the all-women audio-visual presentation of the national anthem produced by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) was played. This was followed by a vibrant motorcade participated in by 22 schools.

Around 30 vehicles traversed strategic streets—from Gordon Avenue to the main roads of Olongapo City—to raise public awareness about the celebration and its theme, “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.”

Participants wore shirts featuring the official design prescribed by PCW. The vehicles were adorned with tarpaulins and purple balloons—the official color of the celebration—symbolizing transformation, change, empowerment, and solidarity.

Other lined-up activities include Purple Wednesdays, an electronic photowall, and “Her Strength, Our Inspiration: Search for Empowered Women,” a recognition initiative that honors women who inspire others through their strength, leadership, and positive contributions to the community.
