OLONGAPO CITY — To cap this year’s research-related Program, Projects, Activities (PPAs), REPORT 2025: Division Researchers’ Summit, themed “Report and Collaborate: Building Stronger Networks for Impact-Driven Education Researches,” was successfully held at Subic Bay Travelers’ Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone. The summit convened 270 researchers, including 120 participants from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), marking the first-ever Division-led research convergence of its kind.

The summit brought together researchers, school leaders, and Division officials to systematically surface, validate, and utilize research studies conducted within SDO Olongapo City. In recent years, the Division has reviewed and approved an average of 142 research studies annually, positioning it as a key research locale in the region. However, Division officials noted that despite the volume of studies, many research findings remained underutilized in shaping localized educational interventions.

REPORT 2025 was organized to address this gap by serving as a strategic convergence platform where completed research studies were formally presented, examined, and contextualized for direct application to Division-level decision-making. The initiative also aimed to strengthen structured research, extension, and partnership mechanisms by reinforcing accountability and reciprocity between the Division and its research partners.

SGOD Chief Ricardo E. Ednave delivered the Welcome Remarks, expressing appreciation to participating researchers, school leaders, and partner institutions, and highlighting the significance of research in informing Division policies and programs. CID Chief Dr. Eleonor C. Cayabyab followed with the Inspirational Message and Statement of Purpose, emphasizing the need for translating research findings into actionable policies and interventions that respond to real educational challenges in the Division.

The day’s proceedings continued with the formal introduction of delegates, the presentation of research guidelines, and the Live Presentation of Research at 10:00 a.m., giving HEIs, SUCs, and school-based researchers a platform to present completed studies implemented within SDO Olongapo City. These presentations highlighted evidence-based practices, innovations, and research findings relevant to the basic education sector. Sessions resumed after a lunch break, sustaining dialogue, collaborative reflection, and knowledge exchange. Poster Presentations followed after the live presentations.

Outstanding research outputs were recognized during the Awarding of Research and Innovation Congress Winners, followed by the awarding of certificates to presenters and participants.
The congress concluded with Closing Remarks delivered by Sir Manric D. Turla, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) and Division Research Manager, the proponent of REPORT 2025 under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Ilynne E. Samonte, CESE. Sir Turla reaffirmed the Division’s commitment to strengthening research utilization, extending partnerships, and ensuring that research conducted within the Division continues to produce meaningful outcomes for learners, teachers, and school leaders.
Through the conduct of REPORT 2025, SDO Olongapo City reinforced its commitment to transforming research into actionable insights, institutionalizing a culture of accountability and collaboration, and bridging academic research with real educational practice.
